1st anniversary of Workneh’s passing

Memorial meeting (150 people on Zoom)

First meeting Workneh Dechasa Education Foundation

12 family and friends meet via Zoom and agree to form organisation to establish a school in Workneh’s memory in his home village. Meetings to be held every fortnight.

July 11
Officers elected

Aster Dechasa be elected as Chair, Siobhan Crawley Vice-chair, Feyisa Demi, Treasurer and Brian Foster, Secretary.

September 5
Constitution adopted

It was agreed that we would apply for registration as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) whose members are its trustees.

Fundraising meeting

Applied for Bank Account Fundraising targets agreed

November 14
Application submitted to Charity Commission
December 10
Charity registered
